New Light Youth Group, Riverstone: Friday Faith, Fun & Friends for Years 6-8
Welcome to the Riverstone Youth Group! We’re a vibrant community dedicated to helping young people in Year 6-8 explore their faith, build lasting friendships, and have a fantastic time. What to Expect at Riverstone Youth Group
Every Friday night during school terms, we gather at 19 Elizabeth St. Riverstone for an evening filled with laughter, learning, and connection. Our program runs from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, but we encourage you to arrive a little early to register and meet our friendly leaders and other youth members.
Our Weekly Program:
- 6:30 PM: Registration & Welcome: Arrive early to get settled and meet everyone.
- Games: Fun, interactive games to break the ice and build camaraderie.
- Bible Talk/Discussion: Engaging discussions about God’s Word and the life of Jesus.
- Hang Time: Relaxed time for eating, playing handball, and fostering friendships.
We believe that youth ministry should be engaging and relevant. Our goal is to create a space where young people feel comfortable exploring their faith and asking questions. Whether you’re new to Christianity or have grown up in the church, you’ll find a welcoming and supportive community here.

At the heart of our youth program is a desire to help young people explore their faith and meet Jesus. We believe that God’s Word, the Bible, is powerful and relevant to our lives today. Each week, we open the Bible to see what God has to say to us, especially about Jesus and what he offers us.
Bible Talk/Discussion:
Our Bible discussions are designed to be interactive and engaging. We encourage young people to ask questions, share their thoughts, and explore the meaning of Scripture. We believe that by studying the Bible together, we can grow in our understanding of God and develop a deeper relationship with Jesus.

Fun Activities and Hang Time
We believe that having fun is an essential part of youth ministry. That’s why we incorporate exciting games, social events, and recreational activities into our program. Whether it’s playing team games, enjoying a friendly game of handball, or simply hanging out and chatting, there’s always something fun happening at Riverstone Youth Group.
Games and Social Events:
Our games are designed to be inclusive and engaging, promoting teamwork and camaraderie. We also organize special social events throughout the year, such as movie nights, outings, and themed evenings. These events provide opportunities for young people to connect with each other and build lasting memories.
Hang Time:
After our Bible discussion, we set aside time for “hang time.” This is a relaxed period where young people can eat snacks, play handball, and simply enjoy each other’s company. We believe that these informal interactions are essential for building friendships and fostering a sense of community.
